Are the models showing a more west track now?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Oh well the models are good for some storms but I guess not this one in the "eyes" (pun intended) of the NHC otherwise they would have shifted the track a little further west. Though that may change later tonight if the models stay consistent or continue to shift westward.

read the NHC's 5:00 p.m. discussion... sounds like they don't buy into the models that did shift westwardly.

For the last

#89 Postby 3rdEyeOutFlow » Thu Aug 25, 2005 4:30 pm

I haven't been offended from the start. All of my responses were absolutely in jest. At the risk of offending YOU, I must say you completely missed my meaning(s), it was all a bad joke by me, and I appologize. I took up valuable time and space on the forum merely to amuse myself by pretending to be offended. It's all good dawg.

Speaking of offense, you've got to be kidding. North Texas even? My wife who is from Western NY State had the pleasure of spending a summer in Canyon where things were beautiful and all, but.... The most fun anyone had was going down to Amarillo to watch movies. She hated it and got back home here as fast as possible. Now had you been in South Padre, I might have cut you some slack there Mattie, but almost no Louisianians are "Texans by choice." Most of them went over there with the oldfield consolidation or to Dallas for IT jobs.

I'll take my fresh Gulf seafood, andouille, etc. tyvm. ;)

Oh that's obvious based on their current track and what the models are showing. We shall see with time. I would a keep a very close eye on this storm if I lived in the same area Dennis visted.

I just can not fathom a hurricane striking the same place 3 times in one year. Will this set some sort of record if Katrina transverses some of the same real estate that Ivan and Dennis did? Let's hope we don't have to think about it.

Hey, I'm a Mississippian, born and bred and live in Alabama. Bring it on! :D
Most of us consider it God's country.

Edit: Can't type either!

And, to stay on topic---Don't you come up here, Katrina!

I think it is just the NHC's way of trying to save face by saying they are not conviced.

I think they are being honest. There is a lot of uncertainty. Land interaction can change a storms path too. This thing might wind up in Cuba 8-)

if they keep shifting the track to the west I'm gonna pack up and head to Gautier to possibly see Katrina up close and personal.

CUBA! :D Can it make a diff. what type of land? (low lying areas with shallow water)...and...how much land? Depending how far south. The effect could be somewhat less dramatic.
