I've been recording the images taken by Miamis NEXRAD radar. I put the images though a slid show and it looks like Katrina is heading towards Miami not just the eye but the whole system

EDIT: NOTE: I'm working with 28 images (roughly the last 2 and a half hours or so)

Landfall is an hour or so away. The eye is still barely offshore.

Also, one run of the models flopping westward does not equate a trend.

A lot less weight when we are talking several hundred miles.

Wow, she looks very impressive! So, how much strength do you think she'll lose as she travels over the peninsula? I think it won't be too much as she's travelling over a part pretty far south and she's going to go right over the Everglades. Any thoughts on this, y'all?

i think enough of the eyewall is onshore to really hamper any more intensification but all in all she won't be much more than a nuisance storm for SE florida the panhandle or wherever she goes next might be a different story if she moves slower over the GOM

If Katrina makes landfall on the Miami-Dade/Broward boarder line, what will become the official landfall point? Will that be it?

Storm..

Those aren't the only models that the NHC uses, so there's no telling how much weight was put on those models that shifted west. The NHC did say, however, that their forecast is slightly east of their model consensus. We aren't talking several hundred miles when you consider the model consensus.

All I know is that the NHC knows what they are doing, so I put much more faith into what they say over what a few models say.

Much better structure. Storm is reflecting Gulf Stream boost in improved form.

Look for wind increases!

a good question is what will be the landfall point since its almost at the Dade/Broward boarder line.
