The eye is directly offshore from me now, according to radar. Hoping this thing heads west again, so I can check it out as it passes over.

Dan Rather is reporting from the eye! He just reported that President Bush was supposed to report for National Guard duty but hasn't been seen :D

The eye just hit land...not too bad...

I have seen worse (been through Andrew)...

Trees down...lots of wind....not as much rain as I thought...

Electricity trying to go out but hanging on...!!!

7pm..25.9, 80.1.

I'm at 25.91, 80.31. Current obs: wind 46,gusts 63. 29.23 falling. I note lighter skies to my NE. Noisy and Nasty.

Indeed. windtalker, x-y-no, flashflood, ericinmia, HeatherAKC, and wzrgirl1 are all seeing pretty calm conditions right now.
