I wouldn't worry. Unless he's in one of the really old shacks, Derek is in a solidly built structure. FG Walton Smith had a thing for building really solid.

Hope your having a blast Derek, I'd love to be out there. Not to say its safe to be out there, but I've only been able to observe the last 2 hurricanes in Pensacola from a window for fear of being hit with flying debris. Theres nothing better to build your respect for mother nature then to expirence her first hand. Stay put too, it looks like you have quite a few more hours of this. Everyone stay safe.

Sounds exciting DO. Stay safe. The way Katrina came in and the way she's drifting now made it far more interesting for Miami and points South. Looks like a long night with lots of squalls on the backside too. It should stay interesting if she continues to track south of due west.
