As opposed to what it just did???
They are screwed if a Cat 3 or higher does the same basic track...
You got that right!! While this storm surely caused (is causing) some damage, injury, and death - a cat 3 on the same track would be UNREAL. Like you always say...

These people will be sad if it ends up in the Keys:
Aircraft find refuge in the Keys
Some commercial and private aircraft have been flown to the Marathon and Key West airports to escape Hurricane Katrina.
from the Sentinel blog which also reports widespread airport damage at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Where's this radar you're seeing? I'd buy WSW for sure, but it's not going to go south of Cape Sable at all.
NHC mentioned just 40 minutes ago:
KATRINA IS MOVING SOUTH OF DUE WEST NEAR 6 MPH AND THIS GENERAL
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS. ON THIS
TRACK...THE KATRINA SHOULD MOVE FARTHER INLAND ALONG SOUTH FLORIDA
TONIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING.

Yes, I know. What The Sum of all fears seems to claim is that it's moving SW or even SSW.

2 things,
1. The Radar im looking at is messed up or its not
2. I dont think NHC is Following it, From where i sit its moving SSW. WSW is almost Dead W.
SW is Dead centerd of S and W. SSW is more S then W. so from radar its looks like its moving SSW i hope im wrong becuase if im right its going to have more time over the Golf and the Golf is 93F that is HOT HOT HOT.
