At the NHC right now

#1 Postby dhweather » Thu Aug 25, 2005 9:36 pm

Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall?

It's well south of the forecast track, it will be back over water by 2AM,
and it's core looks good.

I bet that the shift change doesn't happen - too dangerous for the forecaster to drive!

I think during a hurricane landfall(especially a major one), they just all stay there anyway. Your just gonna be back in a few hours anyway...

Katrina is not weakening over land.

And that is true, in fact, the eye has cleared out on the last few radar frames, which actually indicates...STRENGTHENING?????

Hey...now that you mention it, I haven't either. There are usually tons of birds sitting in the trees next to the pool, but absolutely nothing today.

Didn't Gaston pull something similar when it got close to the Chesapeke?
It seems like the portion over the bay had winds sustained high enough that they upgraded it to TS.
