The reason I thought the NHC was saying it's gonna turn north is because the high over La./Texas and the high over the eastern seaboard were going to develop a weakness between the two as the La./Texas high drifts westward, IMHO.

I have alot to learn. Not sure how to interpret that map? I'll take your word on the large strong ridge for sure deltadog. :lol:

Unless someting changes overnight, we'll be uncomfortably close in the track. Right now, I'm leaning in the Mobile vicinity.

look on the map...you will see numbers near that particularly nws site....look at atlanta...(FFC)...see the 594?? that is 5940dm...thats where the 500mb pressure is found in the atmos. That means there is a very strong ridge...just look at the other sites...many 590+...
