Katrina Prediction of path

#1 Postby wxcrazytwo » Fri Aug 26, 2005 11:27 am

The following post is NOT an official forecast and should not be used as such. It is just the opinion of the poster and may or may not be backed by sound meteorological data. It is NOT endorsed by any professional institution including storm2k.org For Official Information please refer to the NHC and NWS products.

I believ the trough heading down will curve Katrina to the right causing the ridge to move more eastward. Right now it is just meandering out down south, but I feel a sligt pull from the trough will be enough to pick it up and move it more NE. I'd say within 100 NM from Tampa and hitting the big bend area or 100 miles either side.

THIS JUST MY OPINION. I don't see this thing meandering and the trough not picking it up...

The trough will dig deep enough to influence Katrina, thereby allowing it to move through the weakness in the ridge. I could be wrong..

Very good forecast. Looks like there is some punishment on the way.

Usually when someone says something against everyone, they get bashed. If your scenario were to verify than they wouldn't be too happy. But on storm2k.org all opinions and forecasts are heard.

I hope you are wrong wx. A brush with a major, especially a large storm, which I think this will be, could cause unexpected problems for NE Florida.

Furthermore, the storm surge into that area would travel 20 miles on a cat 4 or better. A real disaster in the making.

clouds are starting to increase here in Tampa. If this thing was far away from Tampa, I believe we would not be getting some of these feederbands or the winds, which are about 15mph.

I will shift a tad to the left, but not much. I will still stick with my prediction above
