Do I have to answer that?

I have been prepared. Just had to buy a few things from the grocery store and get cat food. Other than that, I am stocked up. :D

I am not a Mississippi resident. But, have family there. My grandparents, uncle and cousin live in Picayune. Near the LA/MS border.

Dang girl, we never pushed the shutters up on the back of the house. Regardless, you do not want to be anywhere near the beach if this thing is as bad as they say it is going to be.

Beach of Pass Christian

#11 Postby Biloxi » Fri Aug 26, 2005 6:16 pm

We are pretty well stocked up ( usual procedure during the summer months) really nothing we can do here in that we live a couple of houses off the beach and the storm surge from a major cane would be a complete loss to house, etc. When Camille came through here in 69, They measured the storm surge and wave height at 22ft +. If Katrina turns out to be a cat 4 or 5
and hits just west of Pass Christian - say Bay St. Louis area - the devestation will rival Camille. There is no comparison to the amount of coastal development now vs. when Camille hit.
I of course have plans to take my family north of I-10 which is very high and the worry of storm surge is not an issue. I have a relative that lives in North Guflport and that is were we would stay.

I'm in Hattiesburg..... and I'm ready to go (prepped for Dennis earlier). My parents live on Alabama's coast (about 15 miles inland) and I saw the Ivan devestation first hand so there's no such thing as being too prepared.

I'm ready to go. Let's see... pictures, importants papers, luggage, snacks, three restless daughters, two dogs, two cats and one lizard... no, leave the lizard. Yeah, I'm ready; headed to Jackson late tomorrow or Sunday.
Stay safe and God bless.

BILOXI here...

Boarding up this morning - all the "boards" are pre-fit/cut and ready to go. Then to Lowes for a few more lag bolts, to Wal-mart for the typical stuff (mainly munchies since we already have all the other stuff like water, candles, batteries, etc), and to get gas. Will be on the beach sometime today/tomorrow looking for Cantori and Hurricanetrack.com!!After that, we'll just hunker down and ride things out...
