He would be a damm fool to go to NOLA with this kind of cane threatning. Mark Sudduth said on his site hurricanetrac.com that he would not put himself in that kind of danger so I hope that other mets do the same.

They did not put him in New Orleans because he would have no way out. It is too dangerous.

I will get out tomorrow and Cruise Hwy 90 (which is the road that runs along the beach in Biloxi for those who have never been here) and scan the horizon for Jim Cantore. IF I see him or the TWC weather bus I will definately come back and report it....... Maybe I will try walking my dog on the beach and get interviewed LOL (Finally my 15 seconds of fame).

Thankfully I'm pretty well prepared, I have lots of bottled water, I gassed up my car today, I have canned and non perishable food, flash lights and batteries, a portable radio, a brand new bag of dog food for my dog. Really the only thing I have to do tomorrow is laundry and secure the yard. I have boards for the windows and can get a friend to help me put them on, they are already cut to the proper dimensions.... So I can spend an hour stalking Jim Cantore  But honestly I dont want it to hit here, I really dont want it to hit anywhere!!

His being in MS is also one of the worst signs for us. The east side of any storm is a place we have avvoided for a long time.

Jim is BY FAR my favorite field reporter. You can tell he really loves his job and has such a passion for weather. Some of the field reports act as if they just do it because it's their job, but Jim lives for this and it really comes across in his reports.

Even the Red Cross doesn't stick around in NOLA if a major is approaching. They figure their employees could drown.

That is true Windy and they also know that the Red Cross will be needed for the "aftermath" so they stay out of harms way until it is over and they can go in with relief for those affected
