Question about New Orleans shelters

I of course don't live in New Orleans, but I'm curious.

Would they use the SuperDome as a shelter.. or would that eventually be underwater too like everything else..?

It's the only shelter but it's for last resort.

Strange problem during/after Georges: I forget which, but they ran out of hot dogs or hot dog buns. The people got upset and looted the dome when they left. Some people walked out of the dome carring sofas!
