Please Stop Making New Threads

#1 Postby Thunder44 » Sat Aug 27, 2005 6:56 am

Everybody, please Stop making new threads for every single movement or change you see in this storm. Look at other threads before you post. And I know some of you want to bring more attention to your posts by making new threads, but you may overload the board, causing to slow down or to be unaccesible. Thank you.

K here is what I think people should do before they make a new thread!:

1) check to make sure there is a thread that you can post in what you want to post

2) If it is a question make sure that is absolutly nessessary if you make a new thread

3) If you are going to make a new thread make sure that the topic of the thread is reasonable

well that is all I can think of for now

feel free to add on to the list hey that is a good Idea in this thread we can make a list of what you should do before you make a new thread... he he he...

1) check to make sure there is a thread that you can post in what you want to post

2) If it is a question make sure that is absolutly nessessary if you make a new thread

3) If you are going to make a new thread make sure that the topic of the thread is reasonable...

I second your comments. What's going on? I thought the moderators had a rule regarding threads involving wobbles, etc.....

Here Here, I think the mods will have to step in. When there are this many threads, the reason for coming in here is lost i.e. the additional information, opinoins and analysis. All the post about each mb drop in pressure, each model wiggle, and each eyewall wobble don't help. c'mon now post some thoughts, a link, etc. and we can all see the developments.

NOt in the least...it's a GREAT reminder...and in order to REMIND...you need to make a new thread...unless your plan is to PM everyone on the board.

This is a great! Post a new thread to tell people about not posting new threads. If it doesn't work, we should keeop posting such threads to get the point across.

If you need to know "the real thing", see the NHC site, not a message board where people post their opinions.

Enough people. If you don't like a particualr thread, don't open it. It's really not that hard to keep up. I'm just an interested observer and I have no problem keeping up. Really, how long does it take to scan what threads you want to read? A minute? Even if you scan a few pages?

If you want only pro and approved info, visit the analysis threads. If I'm not mistaken, only pro mets and approved amateurs can post there.

I posted to something of this effect the other day and was flamed pretty badly. My point was if it's this bad now (a few days ago) then what will it be like when we really have bad a situation - it would get out of control.

Apparently it has....

Can the offical H. Katrina thread be Stickied, and redundant threads deleted. Plus similar threads left over merged. Later after Katrina, start a new system that mods approve threads the clean up the clutter.
