NE Texas, North Louisiana under the gun

#1 Postby Stormsfury » Wed May 14, 2003 3:00 pm

According to the latest RUC model run, NE TX and NW LA will be under the gun later this afternoon and evening as another cluster and possibly a MCC develops in NE Texas later today and moves east across Northern Louisiana in the next 12 hour time period.

And a quick update as well - SPC has issued a tornado watch for the same aforementioned area I just indicated.

We need rain!

#2 Postby PTrackerLA » Wed May 14, 2003 3:33 pm

I wish the MCC's would hold together and give us some rain in south louisiana. As of now, our only appreciable rain chance for the next week appears to be on Saturday followed by a return of the ridge and hot and dry temps next week. Our last measurable rain in lafayette was on april 22 and it was only .25". Our last 1" or better rain was on April 8, so we are really getting dry down here.

Good! No panic! Tornado precautions, stay calm.

btw after our "big one" they have included putting helmets on the kids if you have them to our tornado precautions here in Oklahoma.

I think thats a great idea...the helmets...a storm is coming in now...pretty heavy lightning, and the rains are real heavy...we're out of tornado warning now tho...this one shouldn't be a bad one....

Thanks, Melissa. Right now...he's stabilized ... heart rate is down and breathing from the trachy done last night ... the only thing I know right now is he could be in ICU for 2 days or up to 2 weeks ... hopefully, it's 2 days ... he's pretty sedated at the moment (morphine to keep him calm).

I'll be going back later today to see him in ICU (visiting hours).
Thanks again, Melissa.
