So Sad..Man interviewed stated staying with his house

#1 Postby EverythingIsEverything » Sat Aug 27, 2005 10:37 pm

It never fails, never...watching 4WWL streaming news video, and they interviewed a man who is going to stay and protect his house. what can you protect in a major hurricane??? come on now, think! he also stated he is not scared of water. When he starts hearing that dreadful howl of the wind that sings constantly, and water starts rising that is when he is going to call for help, and he will be on his own. I guess that type of mentality they can not grasp the power of these storms and the helplessness you feel while going through one.

His house could be removed from its foundation and swept away if the storm surge is great enough and he's near sea level.

Can we possible put blame on the media for crying wolf everytime a storm enters the gulf of Mexico?

There is always a chance it won't hit New Orleans and guess what... more people will stay the next time.... thats been the trend the last few years.

I'd get the hell out... no doubt.

I am sure he will change his mind when the police come around and make him sign the waiver that they will not come help him if he needs it, and that officials can not be found liable incase of death..

There are people on this board who don't get it either...even though they've got pro's pleading with them to get out. Even if you survive the storm...which you probably will...you WILL NOT want to be there afterwards.

I hope so. That is what changed my dad's mind, when we went through hurricane Gloria. I was a little girl, the military police came knocking on the door, next thing i knew my dad was evacuating his family.
