Disclaimer: 50% of the time I have no clue of what I am talking about. Chances are I am taking a less than educated guess that sounds good because 10 years ago I stole Mike Watkins book 'The Hurricane and its Impact'. For official information please direct yourself to the NHC and their cadre of weather geniuses.

Im no MET... and with that said From all my post on these forums, Ive been right. I said they we going to shift West. and NHC havd the track going in to NE FL. I Watched her Drop South on Radar when she made first land fall... I said when they Shifted West that the track are wrong and will shift east. and they have been. Please your a PRO MET we look to you for forecasting please tell us where it going.

Everyone has their own opinions but the pro mets and the NHC do this for a living. They must be seeing something pretty strong to say to the NO mayor to "Evacuate Now". There is a pretty wide spread cone but all models seem to point to La/Ms/Al. Unless something very radical happens thats probably where its going.

He wants to learn, but other new people who are trying to get information on this forum will read stuff like this and take it serious. Right now is NOT the time for all of us amateurs to be making forecast predictions. Let's leave it up to the pro's.

I realize this is a public forum for amateurs, but many use this as a primary source of information.

Sorry...but I wish people who really don't know what they are doing would stop trying to make forecasts when we are dealing with such a serious situation. I mean...come on...a forecast based on wind shear? and wind direction at the outflow level? Pressure falls chart is semi-ok...and using that old rule of thumb it shows the storm headed for NOLA.

I've almost noticed this thread is shifting off topic a bit.

Of course the NHC is never exact, and I really hope the track changes and N.O escapes the worse case scenario. All we know is that wherever it hits, its going to hit hard.

I know I am on this board to learn. I know so much more than I did three years ago [b]( Many thanks to the more knowledgable, analysists and moderators )[/b I do not over step and pretend to forcast for others!

If you are guessing your prediction, say so.

I really feel I should by stock in hotel stocks as it seems that thousands stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night!
