Derek Ortt just mentioned the classic annular shape in his latest forecast. It seems very ominous now. I think I'm going to hit the bed in about an hour. It's going to be a longggg day tomorrow. I'll be glued to the computer and TV.
I've always told myself that if I won the lottery, I'd quit work, fly east and spend the summers/falls just volunteering for hurricane cleanup. I feel so blessed that I live where I do, in spite of the boring weather.
Can Anyone Say Annular????

she is apparantly annular now. Unless some miraculous weakening occurs just prior to landfall as has been the case with so many of these storm lately, this definitely looks to be the absolute worst case scenario for a hurricane to hit the US, period. I never use these ridiculous and overused emoticons but if there was ever an appropriate time this is it!!!!!

When I woke up and looked at Katrina, annular came to mind based on what I saw. Time will tell, albiet we don't have much of that time left, in any event Katrina may well be what will trigger economic collapse considering Greenspan's latest comments, oil infrastucture getting wiped out, extensive costs from storm damage, agricultural destruction near to harvest, etc. This storm is an achilles heal blow and coming at one of the worst times.
It's not just Nola that will suffer from massive destruction, but the whole US economy. So pray hard she drops intensity, pray like you never had before...may God help us all.
