Got a nurse on phone now asking about surge here. Something about EM officials saying we would get 8-10 feet.
I'm saying -- We're on the clean side and far away from it. I don't see that we have to worry. Can I explain better to her? Thanks!

I've posted this on several threads, but I just got back from the beach there at High Island (on Bolivar Peninsula) and we've got some serious surge right now. Several of our friends were camped out between High Island and Sea Rim State Park (where Hwy 87 is washed out from the 1980s). They got trapped by surge. They finally got in touch with the Federal Game Wardens and are currently being led out through the marsh and on private property. They're actually having to drive down a levee.
So we DO have rough seas (5-6' already) and we've got some serious surge.
