I left to go get some decaf coffee. Have news on the tv in the backround. I can't turn the tv or my computer off. Was on till 1 in the morning last night, was back on this morning at 9. I work from home most of the time. Don't think I will get much done tomorrow. I do have to go in the office for a couple hours tomorrow. Debbie

There, "WHEW!" After a pot of coffee starting at 0400 MST, a quick run to Starbucks at 0830!! Now I can think and concentrate. I've got TWC turned up as HIGH as I can stand it in the other room, I've got the sound system going with it so it's REALLY loud, I'm sure my neighbors think I'm NUTZ "LOL!"

I don't want to go to work tomorrow!! I want to stay home and online!!
I had the same thought, I didnt want to go in tomorrow, I wanted to stay and track the storm[/quote]
I'm not happy either, I've got the first day of school tomorrow, and will be locked away from 6:30am until 5:30pm, including practice. I am going to miss the biggest storm in the past 35, if not 70 years!

Seems all of our lives have been surrounding the life of this board recently. No sense in feeling guilty. At least we are concerned citizens and continue to stay informed. I left late, went to work last night(when the board went down) got back at 4 am, stayed on til 6, to bed, back up at 10 and here I sit. I think we are all astounded at the wrath of this storm. So much POWER. My family is not complaining as they are just as consumed with this as well. If any of you are like me, I read this, and wish there was something I could do to help. (other then the red cross ect)

Ok, I don't feel so bad now! I have been glued to my computer since yesterday. Been on since 10 am today, have had brief breaks for making lunch for the kids ect. I have a meeting to go to in a little while, I have thought of cancelling it....whew am I obsessed or what?
I grew up in Miami and was there for Andrew so I know what these people are up against. At the time I was living with my parents. The look on my dad's face when the winds really picked up I will never forget. He told us later that he wished he had taken us to a shelter. I can't believe some of the people that I've seen on the news that are going to ride this out.

I can relate..... I have extended family in Palm Beach County but since I started learning about hurricanes and found this board, I find myself glued to the action. My husband knows more about hurricanes than he cares to know and is sick of hearing about it. Still, this one had everyone's attention. I am so worried for our fellow Americans down there I can't even begin to describe it. I am at the computer every hour or so.....

LOL @ all of ya. I decided to take a break after work last night and had some drinks at a friends. Had a few too many and stayed the night there, but woke up at 7 thinking KATRINA KATRINA KATRINA so I drove home and spent 2 hours on the computer. Fell asleep for a bit then woke up thinking the same thing again. Have been here since....
Think I'm gonna take another break and get some fresh air since it's a beauty of a day. Be back soon.
