Look out.Here comes the immenent drop below 900mb. I expect Katrina to make it by 4pm report and be 185mph :eek:

Derek, in your worst case scenario, in your own mind, did you ever think you'd live to see a storm like this impact the U.S.? Honestly speaking, I can't see any reason we couldn't see 880 -899 mb before landfall. Please tell me I'm wrong, but there's no shear, nothing to take this storm down....

Perhaps the reds have diminished somewhat on a few of the IR images (and that may quickly reverse course over the next few hours), but otherwise this strom looks as tight as ever. Eye is looking very sharp.
