This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Should they leave?

#1 Postby Abbey » Sun Aug 28, 2005 2:04 pm

I have family all over from Baton Rouge to Ocean Springs, who luckily have left. I have a sister in Baton Rouge who doesn't think leaving is necessary. Would you leave Baton Rouge? What can I tell her to expect from the storm?

God bless all of you in the path of this horrible storm.....

the hurricane was downgraded to a category 2, doesnt look like its gonna be as big of a deal as they thought it would be. just tell them to stay there and wait it out, itll be over about 3 hours after it starts.

have her read the NWS forecast - that may make her understand what she must do. If she doesn't leave at elast she is somewhat inland. Try to get her to though. God be withyou and your family.

Somehow I'm having a very difficult time finding the humor in that.

I would stay in Baton Rouge, if the NHC track verifies Baton Rouge will only experience tropical storm force winds. There is a the chance that winds could be higher if the storm makes an unexpected large shift west.

I would stay in Baton Rouge.

In fact, that's where a lot of NO people are evacuating to.
