explode it will. It is now leaving warmer waters (high 80's) to hotter waters (low to mid 90's).. :eek:

Her 13mph forward motion will keep her from 200mph sustained, I hope. :cry:

I think (actually pray) that Katrina has reached her peak...there comes a point when a hurricane reaches its peak and then either maintains its strength or slowly weakens. I say she makes landfall as a category 5 hurricane with winds of 160mph.

The pressure continues to drop and it looks better with each frame. I don't think 200mph winds are possible at the current eye size but further intensification seems possible and I think 200 may be "possible" "if" the eye wall suddenly contracts.

There was a thread yesterday about that Bastardi guy saying 200 mph was possible, most everyone was blasting that idea, I didn't believe it would even be close to possible myself. I tried to bump the thread but it was locked.

I could be wrong, but there may be a catch-22 with that. If the eye constricts, she could tighten up and strenghen. If the eye maintains it's current size, the less likelihood of eye-wall replacement.
