Here in Pascagoula MS, receiving gust in the 30 to 35 mph range on a contunual basis. Rain comes in with the bands, but not too bad.

JMO: I think Katrina may be undergoing a very quick ERC... I think Katrina will make landfall at 155mph and in a strengthening phase...

lol @ -removed-.

you guys... it's weakening a LOT. like dennis and ivan.

this thing truthfully is probably barely a cat 4 and by the time it reaches the MS coast, it will be a 3.

the western side is falling apart.

dry air is getting into the system.

and you guys think its an eyewall replacement cycle. heh.

i didn't say the thing wasn't still strong... but for you to say it is getting stronger is ridiculous. LOOK AT THE THING. the western side is falling apart and the eastern side isn't looking any better.

pressures continue to rise.

winds continue to fall.

but it's getting stronger? since when did sheer and dry air make a hurricane stronger?

"lol @ -removed-?"

yup we are... it's too bad your the one that's going to get laughed at then.

the statement I made has been made many times in the past hours... I didnt say it WAS happening and is sure as heck is not a wishcast...

your statement about the storm however can classified with confidence as a wishcast.

okay. well when we get down to the missisippi coast and see ivan type damage...and not andrew or camille type destruction, tell me it was a wishcast.

Not going to happen. Even if Katrina looses more strength before she gets there, there still will be extensive damage. Mississippi is much poorer than than the P-Cola area and many structures are not well built. A storm weaker than Ivan would cause more damage than Ivan over there because of this.

It does currently appear than NOLA barely missed the worst of it.

steveklein, it is 100% outragreous that you would think someone would wish destruction on people...

wishcasts for a strong hurricane are made when one is a fish not when one is heading for the coast... any statements about possible strengthening is obviously not being wished for in any way for the coast
