Comments on the Weather Channel blog...

Here are some comments regarding Katrina that viewers/readers are making on the weather channel blog:

My family in Grand Bay, AL thought they were safe as well, but I just got off the phone with them. My stepmothers' sisters roof has come off her house, my stepmother's house has fallen trees on it. She has reported seeing people walking outside trying to flee their homes because it is safer outside than inside. My mother's house in Pass Christian (brand new) is not expecting to weather the storm either-it's chaos on the coast as I'm hearing from family.

We were just notified by a family member that has evacuated to Alabama that andther group of family that decided to stay in Biloxi and ride out the storm had to leave their home via party barge and are currently trying to ride out the rest of Katrina on the partybarge in the Biloxi Bay area. They were able make contact via cell phone. They were trying to keep the boat upright and the phone cut out.
