Thanks again. Yes I do here with the people here at Storm2k.
Also keep my stepbrother as well in your prayers as well as he's going thru a time where an injustice has been hit upon him as well.

I was able to eat a NORMAL (big lunch) today, thank goodness.

Update: My father's heart rate is down to 120 now ... which is a hell of a lot better than 165. The trachy procedure seems to be doing quite well with his breathing since the swelling in his throat hasn't gone down yet. I think now he's through the worst, but still a ways to go ... a determination will be made if he'll be in ICU for 2 days or up to 2 weeks ... so I await the news.

I certainly hope that the worst is over too! I'm glad to hear that there's been some improvement!

I have some better news ... he's breathing a little bit more on his own and they've cut down the oxygen level on the machine down to about 70%, plus his heart rate is now down around 95. Much Better NEWS!

Still a long way to go ... but this is very good indeed.

Just wanted everyone to know my father's doing better ... his heart rate continues to be in the 80's/90's ... and he's breathing a little bit better ...

He admitted to me and his wife (my stepmother) that he was scared and he also has a short term memory loss as well ...

Yes he is, Donna ... I think they shut the breathing machine off as well (cause I didn't see it on when I saw him earlier tonight, but the trachy tube is still connected)...

Probably at least another week ... maybe not all of that in ICU but he'll likely require a hospital stay after the ICU stay ...

Not only is it great news of your dad's helaing, Mike, but also wonderful to see your care and compassion for him here on the boards. You set a terrific example.

You, too, must take care of yourself while he is on the mend.
