I am sitting here right now trying to comfort my grandma. She lives in Picayune, MS right where the eye passed over. She keeps hearing the TV reports and she is crying. She may not have anything left to come home to. And she has some friends and neighbors who did not evacuate and are feared dead. We are trying not to mention anything in front of my 10-year old little cousin who lives with my grandparents. She is just a child and that would be too upsetting to her. My aunt and her friend are also here from New Orleans and are worried about their homes as well.

Oh, Cajungal, all these new stories just break my heart. I am praying that you get good news soon, and bless you much for being such a caring Grandaughter and Cousin!

Does anyone from there know where second street is? I did a map search and it ran N-S on the base, but the "second" street is Howard.

Just trying to figure out what "south of Second Street" means. Thanks.

Second Street runs from Pass Christian down to Gulfport.. It's basically about 100 yards from the beach.. Lots of expensive homes in the area..

I'm fully expecting not to have anything left once I get back to what was Pass Christian..

What else can be said that has already. A very heartbreaking day indeed. The more I read the worse it is. We feel your pain from far away. It could have easily been any of us. Many prayers needed.
