I'm listening to the live feed of WWL. They are reporting that there will be many 3000 pound sand bags dropped into the breech in an attempt to stop the flooding.
I hope it works.

This actually might make the situation worse by allowing pressure to build up on other weak parts of the existing levee.
What other choices do they have, though, to try to stop it? I guess they have to try to do what they think makes sense.
Here in FL official sources tell us sandbags will do no good in a flood surge situation and not to even use them.
