NOLA sinking?

Is it possible NOLA could be sinking? I'm no expert but with all the flooding and now the water rising with experts saying they don't understand why, is it possible NOLA could be sinking?

NOLA losses an average of 50 acres per day or close to that before Katrina. I have to look for the link to confirm that.

that really didn't make any sense... and is completely untrue. 50 acres a day? no.

I saw on a documentary that southern Louisiana looses 30 to 50 acres a day that turns into water. Also, New Orleans IS sinking. Slowly, but enough that in 100 years, southern Louisiana will be under water. Including New Orleans.

DON"T START RUMORS and please refrain from wild speculation.

The "loss" -- which may well be 50 acres a day -- is from the total marshland area of coastal Louisiana. This has nothing to do with the ground of New Orleans.
