Are you kidding me?
MSNBC is coming back from a commercial break in a second with a report on how hurricane Katrina has affected Hollywood! Do they actually think anyone REALLY cares? Good Grief!

Haven't seen it -- what did they have to say?
I couldn't help but think about Forrest Gump when I was watching the news during my lunch earlier and they showed Bayou La Batre and all the shrimp boats tossed up on shore. Remember how the news crews were out there after "Hurricane Carmen" reporting and Forrest's boat was the one that survived and that's how he and Lt. Dan became rich?
"After that, shrimpin' was easy."

New Orleans is being called "Hollywood South". There WERE three major pictures being shot in the city. One with Michael Keaton and Brendan Frazier. This will also have a huge impact on the city economy.

"The Last Time" with Keaton and Fraser. (NO and NY)
"Stay Alive" with Frankie Muniz and a bunch of people I've never heard of. (Was filming in Nawlins, Kenner, and Esplanade Mall)
"The Reaping" with Hilary Swank (I think someone...Sunny, wasn't it you?...posting about this one and the call out for extras.)

Yep. I think it was about a month ago, Duckie.
I have to tell you, I got a kick out of seeing Michael and Brendan. They were shooting a scene in our building, and they were so nice.

last weekend we had to hear how the MTV awards were still being held despite all the people without power and they kept going back to the preperation like anyone here cared about it considering all the people that were without power or had flooding or had structural damage. then they make a big deal about suge knight being shot like anyone here cared.

Miss Mary
I must admit Hollywood did cross my mind today, but not for current movies or TV shows. I half expected the entertainment industry to organize a fund raiser/concert, somewhere for aid to the hurricane victims. That is THE only reason Hollywood even entered my mind. And I'm one of the those types that carried on when Brad and Jen broke up! Wish we could return to such a simpler times and this would all be a bad dream.
