I paid $2.76 to fill up today, but somehow I feel like another jump is only a minute away! I saw prices up to $2.99 here.... absolutely ridiculous, I'm so mad I'm beyond being mad.

In all likelihood because of Katrina and decreased refinery output gasoline will go over $4/gallon. And this IS a matter of supply and demand.

Got in line this morning at 2.79. I asked when they were going to raise their prices, as the place next door, which didn't have a soul in line, was charging 2.94. The woman said she was heading out as soon as it slowed down, or ran out of gas, one.

This afternoon, most places were 2.92 to 2.99, with one place at 3.09. :grrr:

Fox just showed a station in Atlanta that was selling gas for (get this)...$5.57 a gallon! Good heavens, if this is a sign of things to come, we won't even be able to afford rice and beans

3.09 for most. A few are 2.99, and one station was reported to be at 2.85.

I just heard that there is no gas in middle part of S.C. Florida is low & can
only buy $20. The east coast gets it's gas from a line from Miss. and the line is down for ~one - two weeks. Another line goes thru Ohio to north is operating 40%. I got this off of channel Headline News.

At 8am, it was 2.61, by 5pm, it had jumped to 2.79.

I'm betting it will jump again tomorrow.

I thought about the whole horse and buggy thing, but LOL decided it would be too hard to keep a horse in my apartment parking lot

Aw come ON Kevin  ........this is MORE than just supply and DEMAND, it's price gouging in those cases in Atlanta, it's SPECULATION!! Saw on the news this morning that they ARE indeed doing an investigation in Atlanta, Dallas F/W amidst allegations OF price gouging. MSNBC had shots of one station at $2.99 then up the road a piece, that $5.67 gallon, now what's WRONG with THAT picture? Pure greed.........sadly, it's human nature when a crisis of this magnitude happens, these idiots PREY on peoples emotions, they KNOW they've got them between a rock and hard place :grr:

Now.....here in Az. there is absouletly NO REASON for prices to skyrocket the way did yesterday!! OUR fuel is processed in Gallup New Mexico, just a short 110 miles to my east.

ANYWAY....nuff complaining, the price of fuel is what it IS and there's a LOT more to be concerned about at the moment

3.49 a gallon at one station ( I think they must be running low, because every one else is either 2.92 or 2.94)

This part is untrue. Perhaps in some isolated areas in Florida there is a $20 limit, but in Sarasota you can buy all you want.

Basic economics tells us that the shortage indicates that prices are too low still.

Ummmmm, not quite, it MEANS most people, I've seen it FIRST HAND mind you, are doing withOUT a LOT of other things in life, unfortunatly, bills are going unpaid, people are doing without some of lifes neccesaties, FOOD etc. JUST to buy gas and YES, with the prediction of even HIGHER prices, people are HORDING! SOrry for the spelling today, I can't spell worth a DARN for some unknown reason!!

According to my US History Teacher, there was a BP station in Buckhead that had run out of Regular and Medium Grades and only had premium left. The price per gallon you may say? $8.99 A GALLON :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:
