Coastal residents, keep your gas topped off

#1 Postby inotherwords » Wed Aug 31, 2005 7:23 pm

Just a thought I had today. Gas might be in short supply in the near future, so it's a good idea to keep tanks full in case we have to evacuate at short notice.

I just hope we don't have a repeat of last year when multiple storms and their evacuations created shortages in FL, as gas is already in risk of being in short supply anyway.

Actuall the coast might have it better than Atlanta who gets its gas thru a pipeline while the Coast gets their gas by truck and barge. The pipeline going to Atlanta is down due to refineries being down and the pipeline is not working due to power outages along the pipeline

I topped off tonight for this reason. <paranoia>

I am worried about being caught with a shortage and needing to evac.
