I wish... (personal thoughts...)

I don't post on here too often, but I follow this board closely. Tonight, I figured I'd post my personal thoughts here. No new information below... just some random thoughts.

Oh, I know. I, too, wish we'd wake up and this would be some terrible nightmare. Unfortunately, it's the worst dream "they've" been warning us about for years and years. The images coming out of Louisiana and Mississsippi are heartbreaking and surreal... in many cases totally beyond words. Also, now that we're home, the reality of it all is hitting me. It's hard to see that some of your favorite places, some that have been around since you were a kid or even before that, are now gone. I know these are just places, things, but they are symbols of the life you had before Katrina. Their absence really drives home the realization that times have changed. It forces you to realize that this is real, that there are neighbors who did not make it, and there are neighbors who are suffering terribly. Truly, this is a waking nightmare.
