Here in Puerto Rico the very first signs of light is appearing to then begin the final phase to the end of the eclipse.

Same thing here... there were a few folks out watching it... but not nearly as many as I would have thought...
The weather wasn't all that shabby (45*F) and there wasn't a cloud in the sky... sure, it was a "school night", but this kind of thing doesn't happen everyday... and even though the apex didn't occur until 11:40pm EDT, that's really not any later that Leno's monologue...
Oh well... we had the good seats for the show... the others will just have to catch the traditaionally lame 30 second bit on tomorrows news...

Yes, last night (into this morning's) total lunar eclipse was a great sight.
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the minute the moon was "exactly full" was the 23rd hour of the 36th minutes Eastern Time; which of course if 11:36pm Eastern Time. The moon was (nearly) completely shadowed at 11:13pm ET or so and remained that way basically until around 11:45pm, at the earliest as far as I could tell.
Just came back a minute ago from viewing the moon, white full disk again.

We saw it or the beginning stages of it. The moon was 75% covered at 11 p.m. here on the east side of Cincinnati. Cloudy out so it wasn't a great view but we could see the red. Pretty cool.
First thing my daughter said (she was still up from a heavy homework load, ugh) was, hey that's how the moon looked on Survivor once......I'm not a fan of that show, but did it once? Guess so.
Our dog was fast asleep and the 11 p.m. news started, the newscasters were quick to say - look outside. So in one second flat the dog was up - like it was morning or something - and we were all outside on the deck. After a few minutes we went back inside. The dog took one look around (it was an eeary night out) and hightailed it back inside! We just all laughed. Cool pics BTW!
