The Convention Center

#1 Postby coolwater » Fri Sep 02, 2005 7:15 pm

Did you just see Geraldo in front of the Convention Center? He was interveiwing a police officer who was saying they have brought no buses and there are still 30,000 people at the center. He said there were many dead bodie and more are dying and then said that if they dont get them out soon, it will get ugly.

People, those people have been there for 5 days. That is inexcusable. :grrr:

Why in God's name is it taking them so long to evac these folks at the Convention Center? They said babies are dying in there.

I have an explanation about the lack of a convention center evac.

The Superdome has been all over the news.. So thus.. they assume the convention center is "fine" and these people are not as important..

These people are surely not fine.. I am scared to know what the final toll will be including post storm deaths. {starvation, dehydration, potential health crises}

I'm listening to the scanner audio. It sounds like the buses have been appropriated...by whom I haven't been able to figure out yet.
