TWC earlier... LOL

#1 Postby Brent » Fri Sep 02, 2005 7:24 pm

During the 7:50pm Tropical Update, there were 3 messups I noticed.

First the girl said Maria was in the Central Gulf... then proceeded to call it Katrina!!! 2 times, once referring directly to it, and then pointing out 92L saying "it's SE of Katrina"

With such an active and horrible hurricane season this year, they are just as stressed out as we are here.

A met in Mobile did that same thing the other night and then stressed the fact that he misspoke since there's still a lot of people listening in to their broadcast via radio since they have no TV.

There were some bad stumbles last weekend when it really counted too...

BTW: TWC pre-empted Storm Stories for the EIGHTH night in a row...

Maybe they finally realize that people don't watch Storm Stories anymore. And I used to watch it a lot....not anymore though. Personally, I think Katrina IS pretty much an episode of Storm Stories.

It really is quite confounding to me that when TWC is SOLELY A WEATHER NETWORK; how they can continue to screw up!!

Late night Dave (Schwartz, I think) is particularly cluless, IMO.
Can't they find true mets who can do the job????

I mean they DO have some terrific on air folks, mostly on the road chasing storms; but they do have a lot of "dead weight" there!

Oh for the days of John Hope............
