We just got back from taking a 26' foot truck load of food and water to Bayou La Batre,Alabama. The truck was put together by Hurricane Floyd's flood survivors. We could really feel for the people in all of the gulf states. It was a success, when we got there their supply's were very low. The people of Bayou la Batre are fantastic, great spirit, great sense of community. We felt so honored to be of assistance to them. After listening to their stories, we know exactly where they are coming from. After unloading, spending some time with them, we headed back to NC. I understand that there was Condolesa Rice made a visit to the same place today. Wish she had been there yesterday before we got there and saw what was really happening. Hats off to the Survivors at Bayou La Batre! We are hoping to get enough donations again to bring more supplies to them and other small areas not being served by the relief system.

She was there. She was actually bagging the food and taking it out to the people's car for them. She is a Native of Alabama and I really felt like she was sincere from what I was seeing on t.v.
Bayou la Batre is a great place. Hard working people who have lost so much and most of them have lost their jobs~shrimping industry.
