Katrina Surge Video
I saw a video on one of the news channels of Katrinas surge coming over Hwy 90. The video looked as though it was taken from the parking garage of the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. Has anyone found a link to this anywhere online?

That video should be required viewing for everyone in America. They compressed hours of the sea coming in and battering waves on top of that, a quarter mile from the shoreline and not at the most intense landfall area of the storm, into 21 minutes. They were in a bulletproof building with plenty of room to go up with the surge.
It's no wonder so many lost their lives. I suspect that many dead will not be found. Washed to sea, returned to mother nature. While they were talking about category 4 wnds, I think those were actually probably high-three. But it was the surge that was so deadly, there and for many miles of the coast.
I wonder if anyone living on the Gulf Coast will ever second-guess a storm again. It's no wonder that the loss of life is staggering. I cannot fathom what it would have been like it Katrina had sustained 175 mph winds for two days or more right up to landfall. It would have made even this disaster look small.
Astonishing, sobering, and a lesson for everyone. Mother Nature is too powerful to ignore.

Well, IIRC there was a storm chaser in Gulfport or Biloxi that recorded 150 mph sustained wind, don't know if that was confirmed or not though. It could've been the same chaser that shot that video, but I'm not sure.

I think people are not grasping just what sustained winds of 125 mph can do. What exactly have you seen that makes you think the winds were 10 to 15 mph higher than what TPC said? I am not saying that it's impossible that the storm was 135-140 mph at it's final landfall, I'm just curious about what hard data you have. What wind observations do you have that support your conclusion, and what footage of winds have you seen that make you think this, and how exactly are you evaluating what you've seen?
