Thanks Rob, and thanks chad for reminding me lol. I am a big baby when it comes to bad colds I hate being sick. I like to be able to give 100% all the time and when you feel like this ya can't. So I went home from work and hopefully relaxing will help  I love that movie btw

Mmmm......somebody's bakin' chocolate chip cookies, I bet!

I've brought a big thermos of cocoa (for us non-coffee drinkers!)

Mind if I set down and warm my cold little toesies? Just got in from filling up the bird-feeders.....those pesky little sparrows have been going thru seed like mad! Cute little fellas though!

Hey! Looks like a lot of friends here! Mind if I stay a while?........p

Hiya petal...so nice of you to come to the new and improved PBS. Seems as though TWC has dropped potential posters...like myself, and treated others with coarse behavior that no one needs. You are welcome here and bring along some others if you'd like! These guys are so much better with the treatment of their fellow members...and they are on almost all the time. Again, glad you made it here....se you around!

Thanks for the warm cocoa Petal.

Good afternoon all, thought I'd drop by and bring some fresh KK. With Crouton, Dave, and Raine here, I brought a few extra chocolate covered KK. Ok guys, take your turn. No need to push --- Ooops ---- Yikes!!!! Oh my. Sorry guys, the only ones left are plain. Bad, Bad Crouton!!!!!

We still have Petal's cocoa. Chin up.

It's cold and snow flurries here in the Burgh. A special welcome to all those who have "crossed over".

Hey Bill, I'll put on a fresh pot of Gevalia!!! Ok, I'll brew some Earl Grey for all of those who may have acquired the taste. Hey Raine, how the heck are ya?? Do you think Miss Mary may wander in??? Hi Mary!!!!! (she lurks) I'll brew some Enghlish Breakfast tea too. I really like that.

So glad Dennis is doing well. I may give him a call later. I'll let you know.

Hey Granny's afgan is always available, you know that. It will give you extra comfort!!!!!

I'm sitting here listening to John Denver (Almost Home - West Virginia).
Kinda makes me homesick.

I'll throw a log on the fire and sit in the rocker for awhile.

Take care my friends

well Hi Karan! Haven't had a chance to talk with you for quite a while now! We've had two cold days of beautiful sunshine! I'm wondrin' what tomorrow will bring.......seems like each mornin' as I turn east out of my driveway, the sky is lit up somethin' beautiful with pinkish-orange clouds! Makes me remember that 'ole saying...."red skies in the morning"....

I keep hoping WE'LL get some of that nice deep snowfall! A few days of schools being closed would be fine with me!.........p

Looks like the old gang is all here - hi everyone. Rob, to answer your question from yesterday - we're 'scheduled' for a closed Low to move in later this week probably around the Wednesday/Thursday timeframe and drop some rain down here & snow in the mountains. It's needed - several would be great. Karan, I'll light the incense & candles but we'll need to coordinate timezones for the raindance lol. I think Steve's right in that washing the cars seems to be the best trigger out here  I can do that this afternoon.

I posted a couple links on the other thread regarding Streetsoldier's comments about preparing. FEMA has the checklists and good details regarding what/how long/etc.

Have a great week guys & Happy (Early) Valentine's Day in case I don't talk to you before then.

PEACE - M2 :Fade-color

Brrrrrr...!! I need to skwuuuz in here, somewhere,
and warm up, please! It started snowing about an hour
ago, and, there's already an inch on the ground. Very
big 'ole flakes - pretty.

Hey, petal, good to see you congregated around the
stove with us! Appreciate the hot cocoa, too! I've been
out filling up my bird feeders, too - right now, there's a
beautiful red cardinal sitting on the edge of the cedar box
in the maple tree out front. He's found those sunflower
seeds!

Thanks for bringing more KK, Pburgh - we DO go through
those, pretty quick, don't we? :infinity:

Didn't mean to loose you. Just meant this is a very peaceful place and let "sleeping dogs lie". Although you have bad memories of TWC, a lot of us don't. I'd like to drop the whole ordeal. How about you???

JIGGLE, JIGGLE, SWAY, SWAY...CRRRAAACK!!! That was my back! Well, I'm trying that new raindance step, but I don't think the cracking back was a part of it. I hope it helps M2 and our SW friends! Hopefully, this'll get Cappy over here too, he always seems to get us!

I understand where you're coming from Karan, unfortunately some have had worse times than others at TWC. Mine were all nice up until last week but I do want to get past it too. There are still alot of people over there that I want to keep in touch with. Change isn't always bad though.

It's great to see Petal Pusher here! Hi there!

I hope everyone has a great evening! Take care!

Steph...I thought I heard a crack...are you ok...I hope your rain (or snow) dance is working for some of our fellow wx buddies. :D

Breeze...No doubt, its time to warm up...its just a tad bit chilly here in Titletown (Green Bay)...the actual temp isn't that bad...its the windchill that's a killer! That' "warm" squeeze felt good. :olympic: Hey, y'all squeeze in! I'm throwing another log on the fire!

Anyways...During our habitat Meeting earlier tonight, we made Valentines for Children at St. Vincent's Hospital here in Green Bay...we all had fun doing it! Glitter and Glue everywhere. (hey, were kids at heart.) :D :Fade-color

Thanks for the Gevalia Kaffe...spent most of the day with my new "silent partner", taking the "factory" edge and bringing it up to my habitual "razor" standards. Also found out that the Kydex sheath ain't all it's "cracked up to be"...literally! One of the lashing slits, the one on the bottom, has cracks in it...anyone know what I can use to glue it while it's still all there?

Another improvement is needed; the belt loop is very thin and wispy nylon mesh; anyone know where I can find 4" wide, medium-denier Cordura strapping to replace it?

As to the blade itself, EXCELLENT, but I am thinking about applying a pattern-coat of Aluma-Hyde II, in flat grey and black wavy stripes (saw this on some new Italian combat knives, and liked it) about 1" wide each.

"Ask me if I'm a knife person"...LOL

streetsoldier, I inherited my Dad's old K-bar issued to him during the Korean War. Had to work to get a good edge back on it but it's remarkable how good of a knife it still is. Definitely better than the one I was issued in the late 70's. I guess they still made them out of real steel back then.
