I also heard on CNN last night that there originally around 80 folks in that nursing home and they couldnt evacuate them all.

I guess that's just a bizarre concept to me -- that they would remain open. After working almost two decades in hospitals, I'm familiar with the JCAHO visits and I've heard about things that cause facilities to lose their accreditation. I guess I just never realized that they were still able to operate without it.
