I read this thread with tears in my eyes for both the information and the inspiration. Such support is not often found in the impersonal world of the internet. What a wonderful family we have here and I am so happy you are safe, Sunny and that you still have a job and will eventually have a home to return to.

I know how raw the emotions are for all who went through the storm. It will get better but you will NEVER forget. Ten years after Luis, I still have nightmares. Mostly I responded to bump this up where it belongs.

Lynn - yes we are a wonderfully, supportive family here at S2K. In fact, we use that word a lot - family. Sometimes we're at odds and disagree but for the most part, I'd say we're pretty darn tight!

And I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our family as well!

PS - many of us formed our little online family, via the Weather Channel's chat room. Then their message boards. And another very active, tight knit group here, originated from a Lowe's Florida board, gophi something? Yet more groups met and knew eachother from other message boards. I think we all made S2K the best it could be b/c we were rather disappointed with the downfall of other boards and that just doesn't happen here. We're determined to keep this place a family-friendly atmosphere.

We all enjoy the quite and peaceful times when we can tell
stories, razz each other, and discuss opinions abouts various
"stuff". But, when life gets dangerous and our "family" members
are at risk, we worry about their safety! There's no telling how
many prayers go upward from this board!

Aaron - from what we hear he may ALREADY be in New Orleans. The 256 began arriving today. I can't wait to see him! He has put on 60 pounds from the MREs!!!!

Hey.....I'm a crazy aunt ya know.....;-) But something tells me I don't have to encourage Sunny, in any way. She'll probably give me a few pointers...he he I know she'll be so excited to see Brandon (but for now it is great to know he's back isn't it Cindy?!!!). Such a relief to know that.....
