Mike i totally agree with you. I too think that was an irresponsible post. Someone a couple days ago stated the same thing about the GOM.

Both Karl and Lisa of last year were CV storms... although they ended up both as fishes...

any CV system that forms this year will likely explode as they near the Carib (granted that shear is light) look at the SSTs:

SST's aren't reducing anytime soon, and the other supressing factors can change.

The way this season is going, even a major CV storm in November wouldn't surprise me. An eastbound Carib hurricane in November ala Lenny in 1999 wouldn't surprise me either.

Guys, he's just making a prediction. No need to crucify him.

Also to add something that many people don't consider.....

The Southern Oscillation is about neutral right now, while it has been negative for quite some time. It is forecasted to head postive too. That means that the shear, and deep troughs across the atlantic will be minimized to say the least. (google SOI)

With the MJO, and SOI both eventually coming into posetive phases for the atlantic, i'm predicting that we will have an increased period of activity toward the end of september, around the last week.

There is plenty of reasoning, evidence and presidence to back this up. Its much harder to go against all of that data. ;)

Excellent point.

Even though I don't see much of a CV season upcoming, I'd RATHER see CV storms as opposed to ones closer to land since most CV storms go out to sea.

I don't feel he is being crucified. He's been around long enough to make predictions without making them absolutes.

We have Ophelia but after that I expect a Caribbean or GOM storm and that is it. The CV season is DONE. The SAL dominates.

That is the prediction of someone who believes him/herself to possess knowledge that I think belongs in the spiritual realm (however, if Boca Chris has an inside track to that sort of knowledge, I'd love to have a couple of other questions answered! :) )

p.s. Topic changed? Good for you!
