Did the NHC move its track north? I thought TWC always just went with what the NHC said.

NHC forecast/"cone of death" (at least until the 5pm advisory). I learned last year from many on this site that TWC does not necessarily follow the NHC track.

here are the probabilities as of 11:00am also

I don't want to begin another thread so I am gonna stick this in here.
Has anyone in the general area of Myrtle Beach heard anything about evacuation??
I have a feeling that due to the disaster with Katrina officials are going to be very careful.
The *rumor mill* has it, per a fireman for Horry Co.,or so he said, that evacuations will begin here at 6 pm tonight. By 6 am tomorow they will go door to door and force evacuations.

If true, isn't this jumping the gun just a little bit????

I heard on the news that they are considering evacuating Beaufort county by 7am tomorrow morning and Jasper county. I was under the impression this might be a NC thing from what I have read -not an official forecast, but here they are saying that the next twelve hours are crucial for the GA/SC border, so I don't know what to think any more.

I just can't see this coming in anywhere south of Myrtle Beach. Looks like its sucking in alot of dry air too.

Thanks for that head's up. The road to the big ramps at Lawson's Creek in New Bern are somewhat inaccessible due to flooding. The smaller ramps still okay......so I put it on the trailer. Very windy and choppy on the ride over there!

If I ever have the need to evacuate, my boat is definitely going with us and I'm glad I took it out today! Plus it's a great source of fuel for the generator too.

With the projection now moved north towards Wilmington, I don't think we are going to get that much if that projection holds true. Hopefully looking better for us here in the Myrtle Beach area

Not good. On the other hand Savanah and Charleston have both been the target. Maybe it will shift to the fishing grounds next.

Don't think so, it's not moving northeast anymore, next move will be towards the west, I think landfall may be even further north than Wilmington. That depends when it will go to the west.

I heard voluntary evacuations are issued at 6 pm for areas east of hwy 17 in SC... however i dont think mandatory evacuations will be necessary do to the lessening threat in SC.... NC could be a different story though.

it's a possibility, but to do that, it would have to move more eastward, or barely move for the next few days, so it could get sent back to the northeast

I do think that the powers that be are going to be very very careful with evacuation notices ect... No one wants to take a chance and leave people unprepared.
If you hear anymore on evacuations, specially the one east of 17 please let me know. Darnit, this is gonna hurt business tonight big time.
