Looks like SC will not be affected by this storm afterall... the ridge must be weaker than previously thought.

True but the last 4 advisories have shifted the path more and more north.... and there are no models forecasting a Charleston or southward landfall atm.

Well, I am taking no chances and will be prepared. Nothing is written in stone, and if this hurricane continues to gain strength, and it hits Wilmington, there will still be effects in Myrtle Beach.
The way these canes have acted lately, ya just never know. I would prefer people here be a little concerned then not at all and think they are safe. Isn't that what happened with the people of Mississippi??

the track will change again... this is the most fickle storm I have seen. Anyone in the cone needs to watch this system. Especially since it's crawling...

Well, most of me knew when I was in the bullseye this morning that that would be a guarantee that we wouldn't be hit. This has moved so much in the past 24 hours though. Who knows?
Are people in NC ready?

Even though the latest advisory mentions little movement, it seems that since that was written (probably close to 2 hours ago) the movement now seems to be ENE - with a substantial amount of dry air on it's west side.

I agree with Rainband... if you in the cone keep a watch. Don't let your guard down just quite yet
