Where Is The Carolina Contingency?

Where Is The Carolina Contingency?
There is a Cat 1 hurricane getting ready for a probable hit somewhere in the Carolinas and this board is pretty much dead. If this storm were approaching the coast of Florida or getting ready to landfall somewhere on the Gulf Coast, this forum would be buzzing! Even at Cat 1 status. Where are the Carolinians here? And why such a lack of interest?

Ive been here since first TD was annouced... and am watching O very closely

I think maybe they fell asleep over the last couple years, with all the action being south and west of them.
For a while there a few years ago, they were getting slammed with everything.

Not asleep at all. There have been times when I was wishing to take one of those storms off of your hands down there! I think I can speak for all my neighbors.....we've been very, very lucky!

Yep, we are here, I brought in some of my plants. Got some water and food, topped off the gas tank today, but not a whole lot else to do unless she comes this way.

whats making me nervous is her slow movement along with her weakened state.It seems as everyone is not getting ready at all or is juts getting ready for a weak cane.A weak cane is all that is forecast but as with bertha in 96 she went from 85 to 105 overnight and hit.i am worried that ophelia is a problem waiting to happen!Lets hope the Gulfstream does not boost her to cat 2 or anything!
