In my opinion, it appears that Ophelia is now moving slowly northward (glad I didn't give up on my opinion that Ophelia would not move westward across Florida). It's interesting to note that little deep convection is currently associated with core of the system (probably due to upwelling and the influx of dry air from the west).

I wouldn't go that far on either issue - it looks like it's a slow northward drift, with little change in the lack of deep convection (as seen on the IR loop)...

Well, it can't be totally stationary, as it has gone from 31.8 N down to 31.1N, and is now back at 31.4, and heading for 31.5. There is obvious slow drift, absent of any strong steering current. Ophelia just completed a loop, and is going to begin heading NW eventually--the key word is "eventually." This is all assuming that it moves--should it not, it will get killed off sitting in place.

11AM discussion says the water under the core is below 26 degrees. That's clearly a big part of the reason the convection has died.
Structure still isn't bad, though, so if it can move itself over the Gulf Stream, it has a chance to reintensify at least to a moderate Cat 1.

Not trying to be rude but it really gets annoying having to look through 10 different threads just to find out everyones opinion on Ophy. There is a main ophy thread which if everybody's ideas were in one place, it would be easier to read than going back and forth picking up tidbits. Just an idea

True, but the problem with very long threads is that someone's comment may be something already mentioned pages ago, but in a new thread is something that can be considered on it's own merits.

P.S. I have a "No more than 2" rule when it comes to posting new threads for any given day, and stick to that to avoid the problem you mentioned.
