But last year's hurricanes were much stronger then this one. I would never want a hurricane threatening my town or a tropical storm, but if something happens with Katrina like bombing out, then it could be very bad.

Actually, the slow movement reminds me a bit more of Jerry95, than Erin95 or Labor Day 35.

What's to regret? The context of this discussion was how strong it would be into Florida. The GFDL was indicationg a Cat 3 into Key Largo.

I think most here thought there was a good chance of intensification to a major in the Gulf.

I very very very very very seriously doubt this will get anywhere close to that.

The Gulf is a different ballgame though.

WOW some people were DREADFULLY wrong... And ironically, some dreadfully right... I remember this thread when it was born... Someone saying "CAT FIVE!" and everyone else saying "SHUT UP!"
