Can someone please tell me.......

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Can someone please tell me.......

how far inland folks are now getting rain from Ophelia? We have family in Pittsboro, N.C., who said they've been a drought for many, many weeks. Don't want them to get too much of Ophelia, but they could sure use some rain! Thanks.

Look at the NWS radar out of Wilmington, you'll be able to tell. Then follow the recording offices up the coast as she moves.

Dixie, I am just SE of Charlotte in Monroe and radar has echos in our (Union) county, but no rain here yet. I will post if it does rain. Yes, we are bone dry here.

Thanks, y'all -- I understand it's been terribly dry in NC. Looks like the rain hasn't yet made it to Pittsboro (near Raleigh).

I live in Hertford Co., we had several tropical downpours in our area as well as portions of Southside VA, mainly diurnally driven convection circulating around "Ophie". It is not raining now, but we had an absolutely gorgeous sunset, like we had before Isabel. Low topped dark clouds flying around east to west, and cirrus blowoff from Ophie producing a fiery red and purple sunset. We desperately need the rain, and I hope she tracks close enough that we get a couple of inches.
