i want excitement, i want a Cape Verde System....with everything we've had this year, we need at least one long tracker to put an exclamation point on what's been a historic year! Just think guys, we could run the table with the hurricane list!!!!!
Bring em on baby!!!!! wohooooo

Calm yourself Duffy....Just as long as they do not hit any land
I am fine...

hey i am in a state of depression because it appears Ms Ophelia is going to miss me on the Coast of Maine :(
i've experienced a few Hurricanes in the Past, while living in New York....Hurricane Belle (1976)....Hurricane Gloria (1985).....The rush i experienced i'll never forget! I would like to experience that again, at least once more in my lifetime!
A hurricane is a relatively rare Phenomenon.....a land falling hurricane is even more rare......and one striking where you live is even rarer still....its something to behold......to feel the wrath and power of Mother Nature
i mean no disrepect towards the victims of Katrina or any other storm....it is indeed a tightrope us Weather Buffs walk.....we love to see these things come together in the Atmosphere and see them become powerful storms...on the other hand, sometimes in our excitement we forget how much Damage they can do
But since i live on the Maine Coast, even if we did get one, Atmospheric conditions just aren't usually conducive enough to have a big enough storm up here....but i will settle for a Tropical Storm :)
