See, every day I learn something new on this board. :)

From that, I would gather a really strong hurricane on the scale of an Andrew or a Katrina, would release more energy than a weaker storm.

Yes I did know that. That is why I have always been flabbergasted by the fact that many think of Hurricanes as "only a CAT1, etc. There is not one of these tropical cyclones that should not be taken seriously!!! Allison(01)was "just a minimal tropical storm". ENUFF SAID!!!!

Yes, I did know and hear of that. Amazing... it really proves to you to not ignore these storms and other potential disasters, even so-called "minor" ones.
