whats joe b talking about some development heading to fl.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

this from Miami AFD this afternoon..we can use the rain

A TROPICAL WAVE JUST NORTH OF PUERTO RICO WILL MOVE WEST NORTHWEST
TOWARDS SOUTH FLORIDA...AND SHOULD BRING TROPICAL MOISTURE TO
SOUTH FLORIDA LATE THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. SOME OF THE
LONG RANGE MODELS ALSO TRY TO DEVELOP A WEAK LOW WITH THIS WAVE AS
IT MOVE TOWARDS SOUTH FLORIDA. AT THIS TIME PLAN ON NOT SHOWING A
LOW WITH THIS WAVE UNTIL THERE IS MORE AGREEMENT WITH THE
MODELS...BUT PLAN ON BUMPING UP THE POPS TO THE HIGH IN SCATTERED
RANGED FOR LATE THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.

ONCE THE TROPICAL WAVE MOVES BY SOUTH FLORIDA EARLY NEXT
WEEK...HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE WESTERN ATLANTIC WATERS WILL AGAIN TAKE
CONTROL OF SOUTH FLORIDA WEATHER FOR MIDDLE TO LATE NEXT WEEK.

What do models say on the developmental prospects of this wave? How much do the models suggest it might develop?

Really? I remember watching him on Greta on Fox News the Friday night before landfall and he showed a path just to the east of New Orleans, right about where Katrina went. At the time, Katrina was still moving more westerly and I thought to myself that he was too far east. I guess that's why he's the pro and I'm not.

Anyway, if you don't have an answer for the person who started this thread, why post just to bash someone? You don't have to like him or appreciate what he offers. Others do.

JB was right on with Katrina. Restored my trust in him actually. He was the first to predict a 910 mb storm in the GOM.

I agree with his track. If he wouldn't have been crying NO for so long, maybe we would lost a lot more lives since not as many would've evacuated.

Local fox Meteorologist Mike Buresh mentions a tropical wave crossing Florida and developing into the gulf, He also says 95L should be watched.

Elsewhere......
Satellite photos show a tropical wave north of Puerto Rico and several forecast models have latched onto this but have differing scenarios. Right now it seems that it might move west across the Bahamas then into South Florida increasing rain some this weekend then into the Gulf of Mexico where it might have the best chance at development.
A second point of interest is a large and organizing tropical wave in the far Southern Atlantic about half-way between Africa and the Lesser Antilles. Several models pick up on this system and develop it into a tropical cyclone taking it to east of Puerto Rico by about Monday or Tuesday of next week. This is another area to watch.

Here is the wave expected to move near or into southern Florida by around Monday. It is the feature (blob of convection) north of Puerto Rico and the Lesser Antilles.

It should be monitored. Right now, though, most say it won't develop much... just give us plenty of VERY UNEEDED rainfall.

I don't know, its been dry since Labor Day here and I'd like to get all of the rain we can handle before the rainy season ends. Will help keep us from a drought scenario when it gets dry later this year...

I didn't pay attention to JB's forecast for Kat, but I HAVE paid attention to his historical "forecasts" He usually always puts NOLA in the primary strike zone in most of his forecasts

I don't know who this Joe B is, but it sure looks to me like he was pretty on about a wave that needed watching... Now we have very scary Rita breathing down our gulf...
