2004 Natl Geo. Article...

#1 Postby ericinmia » Fri Sep 16, 2005 3:30 am

I just found out that the writer of that now notorious article that was published in National Geographic back in 2004 detailing the New Orleans scenario... that has now played out almost prophetically... was an alum of my tiny virginia prep. boarding school.

For those that have not seen the article...

Sorry, just felt proud of my school. I have found out lately a lot of succesful people have come out of there, including white house chief of staff under clinton just to name another.

I still can't believe that article, it was surrealistic reading that days after the storm... with the numbers and events unfolding as if the article was the script to this greek tragedy.

BTW... My old school is sending large monitary donations and supplies to the region. And has flown in 5 students and their families so far to Virginia, to live in a residences they are setting up and attend school for free, along with free housing, and meals in the dinning room. They are are attempting to take in as many families as logistically possible. Goes to show the spirit of america... :)
